Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do you offer telehealth therapy?

Yes, you can meet with your therapist in person at one of our welcoming Central Iowa locations or connect through secure telehealth from anywhere in Iowa. Availability and appointment options vary by provider.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?
You don’t need to be in crisis or have a specific diagnosis to benefit from therapy. People seek therapy for many reasons, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, or simply wanting to better understand themselves. If something is affecting how you feel or function, therapy can be a good place to start.
What should I expect at my first therapy appointment?

Your first appointment is a chance for you and your therapist to get to know each other. You’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, your current concerns, relevant history, and what you’d like to work toward. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you arrive.

How do I choose the right therapist?

Finding someone you feel comfortable with is an important part of therapy. Our Provider Directory allows you to explore therapists based on their specialties, services, location, and the types of patients they work with. You can also read each provider’s bio to learn more about their experience and approach.

How often will I meet with my therapist?

The frequency of therapy depends on your needs, goals, and treatment plan. Some people meet with their therapist weekly, while others may schedule appointments less frequently. You and your therapist can determine what works best for you.
