Nermina offers a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment for adults (18+) navigating substance use, anxiety, life stressors, transitions, and other mental health challenges. She is EMDR trained and holds an International Alcohol and Drug Counselor (IADC) certification to support those struggling with dependence on food, alcohol, or medications.
Nermina takes a client-centered and trauma-informed approach to therapy, integrating EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing to support each client’s individual needs and goals. She believes healing happens through connection, self-awareness, and feeling safe enough to process difficult experiences and emotions.
A graduate of the University of Iowa with a Master of Social Work, Nermina also earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Grand View University. In addition to her mental health background, Nermina has experience working with individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
